THE NEW APARTMENT.

In late may I moved from my university halls in Kingston, to a studio flat in Wimbledon with Matt. We finally back together, after many months apart, in our own space in South West London.
The apartment has evening sun, floor too ceiling windows and is located on the 5th floor. When we look out we can see industrial buildings right outside, over the hills there are cute English semidetached houses and when we stick our heads out of the windows and look to the right we can see the London skyline in miniature.

The apartment is ours as long as we want and has been furnished already, but with me being as picky as I am, I have put most a lot of the furniture down in our storage room (thank god for us having that) and bought some new things.
We have underfloor heating, which we question whether we will ever use since the apartment is so hot. The floors are solid dark wood and the ceilings are 4 meters tall and made of concrete.

We have a breakfast bar which is the centre of the apartment, it is where everyone gathers when we cook and make cocktails. The bed is raised 2 meters and underneath is loads of storage space, you can see even further over the landscape from up there. The bathroom is white and we have a rainfall shower which is big enough for two.

We made a deal once, me and Matt, that we would always upgrade our living space. That every time we would move the new apartment would be better than the other. This is all we dream of right now. We are so happy here and we are together again!

RELAUNCH OF THE SITE.

First, I would like to start with a little apology. I haven't been active on the blog for a while. Life goes on and it goes quick, and my main priority has been on my health and my mind these past couples of months. Oh and also on university work.

What I wanted to share with you is the new launch of the website. I now have a portfolio that I am proud to show, so I have decided to showcase them on the site, and then have my blog as a part of this. And also share the printed portfolio with you!

The site stays the same. I have used the wordplay on my name to create my company name. SIS.L as people find it hard to pronounce my name. The logo is made to be read from all directions which makes it easy to place on products and furniture as well.

I hope you like the new look of the site and please do look around the whole site to see my products.

NEW TATTOOS.
greyish background copy.jpg

Only 5 days into this year the first major thing happened. I have been following the beautiful artist @qualasiki on instagram for a while and have fallen in love with her drawings and hand poke tattoos. I had told her whenever she would come to either Copenhagen or London she should hit me up so I could get one of her lines on me and only after 3 months she travelled all the way from Toronto to Iceland and then to Copenhagen! We ended up having a 3-hour tattoo session on the living room floor, surrounded by tea, pillows, duvets and good music. It was almost magical! We were talking non-stop and she ended up persuading me to start hand-poking myself and gave me a small tattoo kit when she left. When Matt came home from work I told him about it and that we could only use the ink today otherwise it would dry out. After hours of thinking and a fair few cocktails I ended up tattooing myself to see if I could, and after a happy outcome, Matt and I started drawing his tattoo. with this being Matt's first tattoo he kept changing his mind, but I did persuade him in the end. So at 2.30am, we both had one more tattoo. I know you aren’t supposed to have alcohol in your blood, but this was an exception and it turned out really really well!

This tattoo has been on my mind for a long time, both the placement as well as the motive. The plant that grows out of the frame symbolises and reminds me of growing out of the box I have, others have and society has put me in. The placement is very eye-catching and also on a place on my arm that I don’t particularly like. So it also makes me love my arms more since it is beautifully decorated with this now!

The two lines were the first thing that came to my mind when I needed to practice before tattooing Matt. I like simplicity in everything, also my tattoos. Lines are perfectly simple.

Matt’s tattoo is an abstract drawing of the side of a woman, he wanted something not too in your face and very simple. It was so nice to have this bonding experience doing something for the first time and giving Matt his first tattoo as well.

I liked it so much that I have decided to start hand-poking as a hobby and have already invested in everything to start poking. I have set up an instagram so I can show all the tattoos. go to @tinyhandspoke

LITTLE LIFE UPDATE.
life update.jpg

A lot of things have happened since I last opened up my heart here. I have become closer to the people in my life and enjoyed, and then begun to dislike, my own company. In November I started on a diet and began swimming. Surprisingly it turns out I do enjoy some sport after all and that I am actually quite good at it as well! My current best swim is 1,2km in 38 minutes. This, and the diet have helped me to lose 6kg so far! I am very proud of myself for these achievements and can’t wait to be more comfortable in my body! I can feel that I get a bit more confident every day!

In mid-December I had a bike crash due to frozen breaks. My trusty second-hand bike, Ruth, let me down and it resulted in an evening well spent at the hospital as well as a very bruised leg, face and eye, a small head injury and a bruised spine. I spent a week in bed sleeping all the time and then headed home to Denmark to be taken care of over Christmas. Living alone isn’t always nice when stuff like this happens but luckily I had help from my friends.

A week before this, my sister came to visit me for the first time and fell in love with the graphics BA at Kingston University. So she decided to apply and will be hearing back soon. Matt has also been applying for universities in the UK as well as Mie’s boyfriend. It could end up with everyone in London soon. Exciting times are ahead. I am so very proud of them all!

Uni has been going on for a couple of weeks now and it is very interesting to be working on my own. A lot more pressure is on me now. Pressure from myself really. I will admit it hasn’t been easy all the time. I will share more of the project when I am done with the design phase this week. I have already planned a few posts and will be publishing them soon.

Hope all is well and that you are happy!
Love from me

WINTER '18 SPOTIFY PLAYLIST.

I have done this thing for more than a year, making seasonal playlists. My mood is very affected by the seasons and the weather and I have therefore found it very soothing to have  a playlist for each season. The uplifting new songs for spring and the mellow and calm songs for winter.
That is very much what this playlist is full of. Calm, electronic and perfect to listen to while making models for uni projects.

Winter will change my, otherwise very extatic and energetic mood much more mellow and calm. I need vitamins and sun and warmth. So the music helps me get through the winter!

Here's the playlist:
